Cork-Clare under 21 clash postponed - Wednesday, July 16, 2008
The Munster Council has confirmed that this week’s Munster under 21 hurling semi-final between Cork and Clare has been postponed until next Monday night.
Rebel County officials had requested that the game, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday, be put back as Cork’s seniors will be in All-Ireland qualifier action against Galway on Saturday evening in Thurles.
Eoin Cadagon is expected to be fit for that game, despite suffering an ankle injury in the five-point win over Dublin last Saturday. Ronan Curran suffered no reaction after coming on as a sub, while Sean Og O hAilpin is poised to return to the side after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Debatable Sheehan point sinks Tipperary - Monday, July 14, 2008
Cork reclaimed the Munster minor hurling championship with a dramatic one-point victory over last year's champions Tipperary in yesterday's entertaining Gaelic Grounds decider.
Cork's fully-merited victory was shrouded in controversy, however, as doubts surrounded the validity of Ciaran Sheehan's 57th-minute score, which handed the Rebels a 0-17 to 0-16 advantage.
The sliotar appeared to drift a foot wide of the upright, but the score was allowed to stand.
All-Ireland champions Tipperary, chasing a third successive national crown this year, hit back to equalise but points from Mark Collins and Seamus O'Farrell pushed Cork two points clear as the game edged towards a conclusion.
Two minutes into stoppage time, Tipperary substitute Michael Sheedy had a glorious chance to snatch a winning goal, but his effort flashed well over the bar from 14m out.

All-Ireland hurling qualifier draws - Sunday, July 13, 2008
Offaly’s prize for beating Limerick is a meeting with Waterford in round four of the All-Ireland SHC qualifiers, while Cork will take on Galway in the other match-up.
After their thrilling win over last year’s beaten All-Ireland finalists, Offaly will have no fear of facing Davy Fitzgerald’s Deise men.
The meeting of Galway and Cork will see one of the favourites for the Liam MacCarthy exit the competition.
Both games are due to be played next Saturday 19 July, with venues and starting times to be confirmed on Monday by the CCCC.
The draw also took place for the ESB All-Ireland MHC quarter-finals. The beaten Munster and Leinster finalists were in an open draw with Antrim and Galway.

Cork make five changes for Dubs - Wednesday, July 09, 2008
Cork manager Gerald McCarthy has made five changes to his team for Saturday's All-Ireland SHC qualifier with Dublin at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Eoin Cadogan and Ciarán McGann have been handed Championship debuts in the two wing-back slots. The pair of newcomers come in to replace injured duo Seán Óg Ó hAilpín and Ronan Curran.
Rebels captain John Gardiner moves from his usual right half-back slot to cover for the absent Curran at centre-back.
The Leesiders have decided to go with experience up front with Joe Deane, Neil Ronan and Niall McCarthy coming in at the expense of Pa Cronin, Paudie O'Sullivan and Kevin Canty.

Canty could be fit for quarter-finals - Monday, July 07, 2008
Cork full-back Graham Canty has had a scan on his left knee after he was forced out of Sunday's Munster final win over Kerry nine minutes after half-time with the injury.
Result show that he has strained his medial knee ligament, but there's no cruciate damage.
Medical staff are hoping that he will be back playing in time for Cork's All Ireland quarter-final in just under five weeks' time.

Counihan pays tribute to Rebels' character as they refuse to give up - Monday, July 07, 2008
It was difficult to tell who was the more confused, Conor Counihan or Pat O'Shea, after yesterday's astonishing turnaround in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
Counihan (pictured) had just witnessed his side produce one of the great comebacks of modern times while O'Shea was left wondering how a side of such vast talent and experience could disintegrate in the second half.
Marc O Se's dismissal will be used by way of defence in Kerry but then Cork were a man down too after Nicholas Murphy had been sent off just after half-time.
So what happened in the Cork dressing-room at half-time as Counihan and Co tried to plot a way to salvation?
"I didn't say a whole lot to be honest. These guys are mostly self-motivating and know what has to be done when things are going against them.
"We pointed out all the positives we could find from the first half and despite the score, they were there.
