Lynch back for Rebels' semi-final showdown with Tyrone - Wednesday, August 19, 2009
Anthony Lynch has been recalled to the Cork football team to play Tyrone in Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final. Lynch has missed the last two championship matches, against Limerick in the Munster final and the All-Ireland quarter-final against Donegal due to a groin injury. The experienced defender did, however, resume training in the wake of the Donegal game and has proved his fitness over a series of practice matches. He replaces Kieran O'Connor at corner-back, with Conor Counihan otherwise electing to go with the same team that dispatched Donegal so impressively. Lynch was impressive in the two games against Kerry in the Munster championship, policing Colm Cooper with his usual efficiency. Colm O'Neill, who was not named on the starting team the last day, has been included this time as James Masters struggles with a thigh injury.

Cats to face Cork in All-Ireland final - Monday, August 17, 2009
A new chapter in Kilkenny-Cork camogie rivalry is set to be written after the age-old rivals qualified for the 2009 Gala All-Ireland senior championship final yesterday. The legendary Anne Downey led the re-emerging Cats to a dramatic 1-13 to 1-11 victory over last year's beaten finalists Galway, while in the second semi-final at Nowlan Park, holders Cork avenged their 2007 All-Ireland final defeat to Wexford with a 2-13 to 1-0 win. Kilkenny, who have been out of the limelight but have been building quietly over the past few years, looked to be in trouble when they fell 0-2 to 0-6 in arrears after 14 minutes, with Therese Maher hitting three points for the Westerners.

Cork treams reach finals - Monday, August 10, 2009
Both the Cork Intermediate hurlers and Cork Junior footballers qualified for their respective All Ireland Finals over the weekend. Cork withstood a late Louth rally to record a one-point win and book their place in the All-Ireland JFC final at Portlaoise on Saturday. Cork produced a dominant second half display to overwhelm Galway in Saturdays's All-Ireland IHC semi-final at O'Moore Park.

Cork junior and intermediate sides named - Thursday, August 06, 2009
Cork have named their junior football and intermediate hurling teams to face Louth and Galway respectively in Portlaoise on Saturday. Junior football boss Mossie Barrett has been forced into making four changes for the All-Ireland semi-final clash with Louth due to the unavailability of players who featured in the Munster final win over Clare. Cork senior commitments rule out goalkeeper Kevin Murphy and centre back Aidan Walsh, corner back Michael Prout is out of the country, while full forward Ciaran Sheehan is in Australia on trial with AFL outfit Carlton. Paddy O'Shea takes over the goalkeeping duties, All-Ireland under 21 winner John McLoughlin comes in at left corner back, Jerry Healy starts at centre back, while St Finbarr's Robert O'Mahony has been named at full forward.

Rampant Rebels down Donegal - Sunday, August 02, 2009
Six points from defence, seven points from their substitutes, finishing with 14-men - but no red cards for the Rebels - however it was Donegal who firmly saw red as they crumbled to a 14-point defeat at Croke Park this afternoon. Cork were in superb form as Conor Counihan's men made little of Donegal's momentum in their fifth game in as many weeks, with this comfortable and impressive victory that was easily the most clinical display of the Championship to date. Such was Cork's dominance, that although they had used their full complement of substitutes and a late injury to Paddy Kelly forced the former TG4 Underdog off the field - the Rebels had no hesitation to push on with 14 men on the field - although they did concede a goal during this spell.

Cork 0-15 1-19 Galway - Saturday, July 18, 2009
24,163 spectators watched on as Galway booked their place in the All-Ireland SHC quarter-finals following a well-merited seven-point win over Cork at Semple Stadium this evening. 'The sides were level on three occasions in the opening half, with Galway moving into a 0-08 to 0-07 lead by the break.' John McIntyre's men opened much the better but the sides were level at 0-03 apiece after eight minutes' play, with Ben O'Connor slotting over a brace of scores for the Rebels. Joe Canning was on fire for the eventual winners in a lively opening half, with the Portumna ace bagging six first half points - all of which came from placed balls.
